Thread: They should have 'realtime' traffic.

  1. Default They should have 'realtime' traffic.

Here is an idea to make it more realstic with the real world (easier then the satellite photo idea). You know how you can see airline flights in the air 'live' (well, about 5-10 min delayed for security reasons. Those 'live' java feeds give you the speed, altitude, direction, long/lat, of many airlines. They should create a program that interprets that data (by the area you are flying) and feed that data into FS2002. Then you could fly with real traffic!!! And if MS wanted too, in the new flight sim they could make it so when the airplane got close enough to the airport, FS would take over and land it (since the site's information doesn't give that much detail). Just an idea...maybe it's been said before, who knows. Take it as you wish.

I think PAI uses real flight planes, I could be wrong though =/

Hey apmartin2, I totally agree with you.

I've thought about that a lot and I think is posible to do it.
    Look at this sites:
    http://www.flightview.com/TravelTools/default.asp
    http://www.flytecomm.com/cgi-bin/trackflight
http://www.airnavsystems.com/ (I'm buying this soon, looks great)

Only takes to make a program that reads this data and send it to FS and the ATC can interact with that data.
I think that maybe in a couple of versions of FS we will se some Add-ons doing what we want.

    Carlos.

As far as I know these traffic programs only can see flights on IFR plan. You still have to have VFR traffic added in which makes up a lot of the traffic outside of the big cities. As the new version of FS comes out it will give you airplane traffic to untowered airports.
