Looking for a little guidance or at least experience.
I have recently built my "Dream Machine" :
P4 3.06 gig
Gigabyte 8INXP (E7205 chipset) Supports 8X AGP, 533 FSB
1 Gig DDR 2100 Ram
200 Gig HD
ATI All in Wonder 9700 Pro (Latest ATI Drivers)
Windows XP Pro
* The only thing that I have yet to upgrade is Sound - Using the onboard AC97 Sound (uggh)
Issue is This:
System runs fine in general. Installed another Direct 3D game and appears to work fine.
I installed Flight Sim Pro 2k2 from scratch and was really eager to see my system performance leap. I booted up the game, in record time, I might add and began a test flight. Beautiful graphics, excellent frame rates, etc.
I then ALt Tab out to windows to check something and Alt Tab back in to find only the control panel and no external view. Sound was working and game appeared to be playing... but black screen. Out and back in to no avail. Rebooted, tried several internal and external graphics quaility changes, and no help. I then decided just to fly without coming out of the game and things were fine for about 15 mins and then the entire screen went completely black. I can exit all the way out of Flight Sim and start again fine.
As a note, I had this same video card, OS, and ATI drivers running on my other machine, P3 933 with no issues at all. I have also purchased a new Sound Card and is on the way, as I read any that Direct X issues could cause video problems in Flight Sim from MS Knowledge Base.
Any insight or similar experiences would be very much appreciated.
