    Default B-25J Mitchell

A couple of years ago I acquired the FS2002 R4D (DC-3) from the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum (MAAM) and considered it one of my favourite sim aircraft but now have just received the CD's for their B-25J Mitchell 'Briefing Time' produced by Bill Rambow,Jan Visser, Fred Banting, Rob Young and team. For anyone interested in flying an excellent reproduction of this classic aircraft I highly recommend it. IMHO it is the most realistic model I have seen in over 10 years of simming. The addition of the second CD which holds over 500 photos, a 21 minute video of the original WWII training film plus a wealth of historical facts, scanned original training manual and much more is icing on the cake.
Their 130 page manual, written by Bill Rambow ,is complete and fun to read liberally filled with highly detailed screen shots/panels and "gems" of operating wisdom by the real pilot, Russ Strine and co-pilot, Tim O'Hara ,of the restored Briefing Time which has visited many airshows
I don't have the means to purchase many flight sim products but when something of this calibre comes along and the fact that the proceeds go entirely to the aircraft restoration at the Air Museum I jump at it. I congratulate all the unpaid volunteers of MAAM and hope to visit the museum in the near future.
Also recommend a visit to www.maam.org
If British Columbia wasn't so ##### far from Pensylvania I'd be over there helping with the restorations even if they only let me sweep the hanger decks.

I downloaded the demo last night. What an incredibly sweet plane. I will be buying the cd as well.

I could not agree more Gary, What other addon aircraft can you watch the actual pilot fly it on the video's and then completly duplicate his procedures on a exact replica of the real thing.

Does the full version have a working auto pilot?

No - there is no A/P however they have provided a method of using one without the switches/gadgets on the panel so in answer to your question - yes , you can go to the fridge and get a sandwich on those long trips.
And to add to my original posts - Wow - what great internal and external views of the aircraft. :-)

    Scott,

Read the read-me file about the B-25J but I could not find anything about the install procedure.

Can you tell me how to install or where I might find the install text?

    Thanks---Jerry---

    Hey Jerry,

I'm not at home right now but I remember once I found the right file it was incredibly easy. It came with it's own installer, and placed all the files where they needed to go. All I had to do was take the defaults.

If someone else doens't answer by the time I get home I'll take a look at it then and get back with you.

Hehe, yeah gary, I was wondering about the fridge trips. :-)

I suppose you could get it pretty well trimmed out. I wonder what the range is for it? I was going to see if I could fly it from San Diego to Honolulu. What, about 2100 miles give or take?

No, I didn't want to sit there and hand fly it for 14 hours.

I was taking off and landing at Ford Island last night. Prett sweet.

    Scott,

Thanks for the reply, really looking forward to installing the demo and giving this "old boy" a try.

You can get about 1200 miles out of it.
