A couple of years ago I acquired the FS2002 R4D (DC-3) from the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum (MAAM) and considered it one of my favourite sim aircraft but now have just received the CD's for their B-25J Mitchell 'Briefing Time' produced by Bill Rambow,Jan Visser, Fred Banting, Rob Young and team. For anyone interested in flying an excellent reproduction of this classic aircraft I highly recommend it. IMHO it is the most realistic model I have seen in over 10 years of simming. The addition of the second CD which holds over 500 photos, a 21 minute video of the original WWII training film plus a wealth of historical facts, scanned original training manual and much more is icing on the cake.
Their 130 page manual, written by Bill Rambow ,is complete and fun to read liberally filled with highly detailed screen shots/panels and "gems" of operating wisdom by the real pilot, Russ Strine and co-pilot, Tim O'Hara ,of the restored Briefing Time which has visited many airshows
I don't have the means to purchase many flight sim products but when something of this calibre comes along and the fact that the proceeds go entirely to the aircraft restoration at the Air Museum I jump at it. I congratulate all the unpaid volunteers of MAAM and hope to visit the museum in the near future.
Also recommend a visit to www.maam.org
If British Columbia wasn't so ##### far from Pensylvania I'd be over there helping with the restorations even if they only let me sweep the hanger decks.
