  1. Default some lil probs.any one can help ?

    Folks,

I'd have 2 questions and hope you can help me out somehow. Here I go...

    1) I have installed a new plane (a340-600 by flightcraft, got it from avsim). ever since I have installed it my scenery is just a big annoying blur. All was fine before...

    2) I cannot adjust the barometer on that plane(a340-600). I keep on hitting "B" but no go whatsoever. On other planes if "B" did not work I could do it manually buy clicking on a "B" icon.No "B" icon there either.

    My specs:

    P 4, 1.3 ghz
128 rambus ( I k now I should upgrade but it was all nice till I have installed the a340)
    TNT2 pro

    All help appreciated,

    Banshee

    1) The plane wouldn't have made any adjustments to your scenery settings. The only thing I can think of is that the computer has to use so much processing power to render the aircraft textures that it is unable to fully realise the scenery. Can't say I have that problem with the plane, though (could be related to your low amount of memory).

    2) I suspect that the barometer is already set at the outside pressure, therefore giving the impression that nothing is happening. Are you using any kind of downloaded or preset weather? Also, haven't seen a "B" icon for years, unless you are talking about the knob on the standby altimeter? That's what you generally use, but as I recall this one may have a Hg/QNH setting knob on the glare shield, just to the left of the autopilot settings, or you may be able to set it by actually clicking on the pressure numbers on the HSI. Of course, you could always alias to a different panel that you prefer (though there are precious few for the 340 :-().

Could be.But. I have also another plane in my hangar (which is much more detailed than the a340).Nothing happens when I fly that one (fokker 100 by project fokker).I wonder what's going on...

Thanks for your info tho :-)

    Hi Banshee,

It's not always the visual detail that has the impact on your system.

If an aircraft is modelled in G-Max or FSDS2, it's a lot more frame rate friendly than one that isn't. I'm not personally familiar with the download you referred to so forgive me if it is G-Max/FSDS2 and this comment is irrelevant.

The other thing is the texture sizes and polygon count. There are several factors that contribute towards one aircraft chewing your system resources up (gauges in the panel being a further one) where another appears stable.

System specs would assist here. :)
