Default Texture color question

I'm trying to get some info together on a livery for a painter to work on, and so I went on the airline's website to find some info on the logo's font and color. Well I found the information, but the color description confused me a little, it says,

    "Pantone 2685 or C90 M100 Y0 K0"

Is there a way to translate this into plain ol RGB? How would a person recreate this color in paintship pro or another paint program? Thanks for any help you can spare.

You could copy a picture of it, load it into Photo Shop or Paint Shop then sample it with the eye-dropper tool to get the RGB value.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-15-03 AT 00:19AM (EST)[p]Well, that information is aimed at printers and industrial painters (real life), who use the Pantone colour system, and the four components that are listed:

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, (Kohl?). A good quality paint program should have some way for you to set the colour according to those figures?

I figured that much Liam, but it seems the guy who's doing the painting did will enough with the first suggestion. I don't know enough about the software to help him with those partica-luhs, I just scrounge up the references. Thanks for the tips!

    Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, (Kohl?)

K stands for "Key" (Black). Black is often laid down first in the printing process, and so becomes the color all others are keyed to (aligned with).

In photoshop or PSP you can enter the values in directly (Even if you are using an RGB image, you can enter CMYK colors and it will automatically convert them). At least the site was nice enough to give you CMYK values, instead if just Pantone, because unless you have a conversion program or Pantone references, the conversion to RGB,CMYK, HSB, or LAB is not that easy.

Not that anyone is really interested in that, since the question has already been answered.

Thanks Brian, was pretty sure it was black but thought they used "kohl", a ancient term used in makeup as well. I figured a good paint program must have CMYK values in there somewhere (don't do any of that kind of thing myself). Thanks for the details :-).
