    Default Seeking DISPLAY.CFG Information.

    Is there information somewhere that tells what the content is supposed to be or what should be listed? There is a lot of cards and codes listed but the one I have does not list the Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4600.
    I haven't any idea what the codes listed mean.

    Default RE: Seeking DISPLAY.CFG Information.

    Somewhere on this forum, I detailed how to find this information to add to the display.cfg. You might want to download gf4mxdsp.zip from the library and replace your original display.cfg with this one. It adds some GeForce 3/4 cards. In case yours is not in the list:

    Press Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information. Once it is stabilized, select Components, Display. If you have Win98/ME, you may have to select the Advanced Information checkbox on the right panel to see the information needed.

    For Win98/ME

    Registry Key: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0281&SUBSYS_89431462&REV_A1\4&618BA55&0&0008

    For WinXP

    PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0281&SUBSYS_89431462&REV_A1\4&618BA55&0&0008

    In either case you are interested in the numbers _10DE and _0281 in this example.

    Open display.cfg and look for the combination of those numbers:

    ;NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X
    [000010DE:00000281]
    DriverValidate2=1

    Notice how the numbers are translated to the short form for fs2002. Also note the ";" in front of the card title so fs2002 will not read this line. If you find your numbers listed in the present list make sure the ";"s are removed from the two lines below the card title line. If you don't find your numbers listed then add your card with the appropiate numbers and DriverValidate2=1 line.
