FS Startup Problem

After the cockpit opens I get a fatal error that points to the gamesnd.dll file and results in FS 2002 closing. Has anyone seen this before and/or does anyonbe know of a solution? Thank you!!

try reinstalling directx = preferably go to dx9..

then, if that dont work, see if you can find an updated sound card driver.

Thanks for the response. The sound card is bbrand new as is the driver. What is your thinking regarding why DirectX 9.0 will help? My video card will not support DirectX 9 sp I, concerned about a potential video problem. Thanks again.
