Its probably like cars - SE - special edition or LE - limited edition! :-lol
You would need to get the same manufacturers plain and SE version and read all the technical data to see any differences. It could be on one they are using faster RAM.

Hmm.... Yes...
Looks like it is a slightly stripped-down version of the Geforce 4 Mx440, with smaller transfer rates. Only costs sixty dollars (here is another one, sixty after rebate

A stripped down version of a stripped down card? Seems redundant to me, lol.

My motto: Intel who?
I'll say!! At least they could have tried to make it better, i.e., faster RAM!!!

I just bought a GF4 MX440SE and it's up and running. It was for my wife's computer. She does digital photography mostly. I wouldn't want to use this card in a gaming computer; but it seems to work ok for her photographs. I set 4xQ AA. hehe. Wouldn't want any jaggies on her desktop now, would we??
I believe the SE in the MX400se stands for "sucks eggs". :-lol

I have to take back the SE thing. I just glanced at it and was looking at the wrong screen. The PIV is an SSE or SE. The MX440 is a plain MX440 64mb. Better than an onboard chip, I guess. It does the job and her fish screen saver doesn't stutter anymore. Those fishies are swimming nice and smooth now. :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy
Does no matter the meaning of SE.
I have one operating with AMD 850 and A7V-E mobo and I get 20 fps with all sliders at maximum.
