AFCAD - Please Help

I've read the instructions, searched the forum, tried repeatedly but am unable to get any gates to appear after downloading AFCAD files. Here's what I do. 1) download to a temp file. 2) open AFCAD. 3) import the associated text file. 4) save the "new" airport and close AFCAD. 5) restart FS2002. 6) go to the airport which is just shows default scenery and no additional gates, etc.
I don't get it, so please help me.

It doesn't create physical gates that you see. It makes parking spots for AI aircraft. The default doesn't provide enough spaces. If you add more AI flights & planes you need more spaces for them to park at and this is where AFCAD comes in.
