Thread: What is the theme of FS 2004

  1. Default What is the theme of FS 2004

If you view the screenshots of fs2k4, yould realised that all of the planes featured are antiques. Therefore i conclude that with the theme of a century of flight, fs2004 is concentrating on reproducing old birds. If this is the case, perhaps fs2002 will not be overthrown by fs2004? The graphics on fs2004 are rather similar to fs2002 you know. Only thing i believe the planes are all gmax.

I am so sorry but cheers anyway.

I dont see why you say that, all the old planes are still there. they just added a few older planes. also all of the third party planes from fs2002 and on will work in fs9.

also, i might add. as said in one of the other posts. the screenshots are prob alpha or beta versions and the graphics have a good chance of being very dif from the ones pictured and the main idea may be to improve on performance (flight ing and fps)

For all we know, MS might have just hacked into FS2002, made a G-MAX Learjet and tossed it in, threw in the new weather engine, new sun and produced the alpha shots just to get the media attention going. Those shots might have been taken weeks ago and FS9's new scenery might be being programmed as we speak. At this point, all we can do is speculate until we get more info out of Seattle.

Plus it has improved weather and weather effect, improved ATC, and who knows what other features will be added. Still, you don't necisarily need to get the next version. I still know a number of people who are still happy with FS98, and I still fly it every now and then. It's nice to see FPS hit over a hundred with all the sliders maxed and with all kinds of add-on scenery. :-)

Just for fun, after I built my new system, I installed my copy of FS98 to see what it would look like. I remember getting 30-50fps on my Celeron system with max sliders, on my Athlon, I was getting 150-175. Very cool, but unfortunatley, the scenery engine, while great for its time, is a little to ancient for my tastes.

    Total agreement.

I thought some of the screenshots were horribly compressed using a second rate paint program, so im going to reserve judgement for when im flying the C172 on my own machine, not Microsofts.

I remeber the screen shots for FS2k2. I thought wow awsome!! then I actually got it and found out it looks somewhat like the screen shots but it was definatly differant. So you cant go on screen shots this early.
