how change the aircraft textures?

hi, i bought fs 2002 a few weeks ago, and i want to modify the default aircraft textures, i have the fsedit_sdk, but when the windows bmp editor(paint brush) opens the files, there is nothing!, i only get a desk in blank. plese anybody tell me what have i to do?. (this is driving me crazy!!!)

Ahhh young one is unwise in the art of painting! Welcome to the forum, anyway now that sanity has returned you need to get a program called DXT2BMP. FS uses a special type of texturing (DXT3) to create reflections etc, for reflections you need to use what is known as the alpha channel. You may want to read a good tutorial for this. You can also use 256 colour bitmaps if you dont want to use DXT3.
