Auto throttle

I just downloaded a Fokker 28 and it has the auto throttle switch AND it is a clickable icon -- but it doesn't move. The mouse pointer changes showing it should be clickable but it won't switch to on.

I would assume my problem lies in the panel.cfg. If so what do I need to change?

You need also to have the autopilot engaged switch on. If this is on (green) and you click on the autothrottle switch it will turn white and the set speed should be achieved, provided it is within the specs of the aircraft.

thanks for the quick response. I rechecked my plane and set it at 5,000' and 250 knots. The autopilot and F/D were on and the alt and IAS lights were clicked on and lit. The auto-throttle was off. I clicked on it and it would not flip up to the armed position nor would the light turn white. It works normally in most planes but it isn't in this one. Am I still doing something wrong?

Do know if this aircraft has autothrottle or not in real life but check the autopilot section of your aircraft.cfg file:

Thanks W. You solved the problem. I don't know if the real plane has autothrottle but mine does now. <G> Autothrottle _arming and _takeoff were both zero. I changed them to "1" and it works like a charm. All the other lines were OK.

I'm great with real plane with nearly 5,000 hours but FS is sometimes a mystery to me. I now need to read the sdk to understand why I made those changes. <G>
