    Default nview question, or problem

This is not flight related I know, but I keep getting on startup of my system now, the nview startup box. and my Windows \ system 32 folder just opens up by self. I have tried everthing to get rid of this . It began when I installed the 41.09 drivers. I uninstalled them and returned to the old faithfull 30.82's, but the nview thing still starts up every darn time. Anyone know how to wipe this thing off my system?
Running XP home, geforce 3 64mg card 512 mem.
Been in forums every where I can think of with no luck. No contact for Nvidia....They like it that way I'm sure.
    Any help appreciated. Thanks

    Try the forums at Avsim.

They have a hardware related forum over there.

A GIIA in case you are wondering is a Guy/Girl involved in Aviation. Just list how you are involved, and you can use the designation. It's that simple.

Me, I am a PP-ASEL and an AOPA member, and now I am a GIIA. :-)

NO MORE SIG, as it had nothing to do with MSFS2002. It was a FLYII Sig.

I would try starting your computer in safe mode, hit F8 during startup. Search the Windows Add/Remove Program menu in control panel. Delete any NVidia Programs. Restart your computer to see if it removed the nview.dll from your Windows\System32 folder. If not, right click the nview.dll, select properties, version tab, and check the version information. If it is still 41.09, and not the 30.82, you can try several things.

    1. Reinstall the 41.09s again, reboot the computer, then use the Windows Add/Remove Program to remove the "NVidia Windows 2000/XP Display Drivers, reboot your computer, let it stabilize. Install the drivers of your choice.

    2. Try a restore point prior to the first installation of the 41.09s. Remember that you may lose other items you have installed since then also.

    3. Conduct a repair/reinstallation of WinXP by inserting your WinXP CD into the CD-drive. You will have to install WinXP SP1 and any pre-SP2 updates after you do a repair/reinstallation.

Just to add Bill, and offer a suggestion... it may be simply a case of running 'detonator destroyer - available at http://www.guru3d.com - then simply reinstall the driver.

You must - as you state - .. use the add and remove programs applet first.

    that should sort u out.
