Default Where to find the ILS and Vor for runways

Hi all, i'm new from this forum and i'm also a newbie in playing flight simulator!

i have a little question regarding to navigating, where can i find the VORs and ILSs of airports' runways?!
and also, what's the difference between these two names?

Oh one more thing, correct me if i'm wrong, once i'm at a close distance to the airport, all i have to do to get myself line up with the runway is to put in the VOR or ILS into the navigation box right?!

THanks for spending your time in explaining this for me
    I would raelly appreciate that ^ > ^

Go to the drop down menu world-map view and zoom in on an airport or VOR (blue dots) and click on it. IT will give you the frequency of the airport and ILS's of the runways.

A VOR ( very high frequency omnirange) is a navigation aid (beacon) which if tuned to and if in range, will indicate its heading. Some VOR's have also DME(distance measuring equipment) capability which will indicate the distance to it in Nautical miles.
An ILS( instrument landing system) beacon can consist of a localiser and a G/S glide slope but not all runways have these. Some have no ILS or ILS localiser, or both localiser and G/S. These frequencies are also indicated in the map view menu.

Alternatively, you can download FS nav ver3, which is free, or FSnav ver 4.51 which is payware and is well worth the money and is much more versatile than map view. E.G. use as a flight planner without pausing the program.

Set the NAV1 radio to the frequency of the ILS runway. If you are under ATC control, they will vector you onto an intercept heading and altitude for the ILS.If you are flying a jet you will have to slow it down, usually to around 170 to 180 knots, use flaps and spoilers. Also if you are flying the big iron, make sure your fuel load is not more than about 30%. Once you have captured the ILS ,(you will see the magenta symbols On the flight instrument. If you are using autopilot for approach, turn on the APR,APP or ILS switch, whatever it is named on your A/P panel. The aircraft will turn onto the glide slope heading under A/P control, if not using auto pilot you must manually control the aircraft to maintain the magenta symbols in the center position. If the aircraft is to the right of the approach, the magenta symbol for the localiser will be left of center, and you must steer the aircraft left until the magenta symbol is centered, if the aircraft is to the left, the symbol will right of center, steer right until centered. For the glideslope, if equipped, follow the symbol up or down to maintain center.

There are tutorials for above in the manuals. Practice, practice, practice. Good luck.
