Edit .cab files HOW ??

I have a lot of .cab files in a zipped format in my main gauge folder.
When I unzip them I find they contain some .bmp files.

I understand how the gauge files and system works as I have edited many panel.cfg files.

I have one a '747throttlese.cab' which contains both throttles and a flap handle. I would like to remove the flap handle.

Here I get lost. I tried playing with the winzip thing but with no success.
I really would like to edit out the flap portion of that file.

I would really need a step by step procedure.

Download xmlgau01.zip from the library and AircraftPanels_SDK.exe from http://zone.msn.com/flightsim/FS02DevDeskSDK00.asp .

Hopefully, you are copying the *.cab file of insterest to a different folder and unzipping it there vice in the fs2002\gauges folder.

Look for an *.xml file relating to the gauge. You would have to modify the *.xml to remove the handle.

Got the xlmgau01.zip file. Very helpful. Also very heavy stuff! I did get the flap handle removed. Thanks.
As to the AircraftPanels_SDK.exe could not find it. There is panels and gauges and other topics to download.
Could the AP_SDK.exe be an error???

Any way made some progress.
