    Default Newbie Question

    Hi All,

I purchased the Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D today and i am pleased with the outcome as to say I have heard that people had problems even moving on the ground. The power and rudders work perfect and all is well until i take off.

I pull back on the stick and it takes off but i have to hold it in position while it climbs if i let go and the joystick goes to the center again the aircraft just plummets to the ground. Perhaps its me but i would have thought it would stop climbing and level the aircraft off ? I would not expect it to start diving when its centered. I have calibrated the joystick and it all seems to work. Any help is much appreciated as i am a newbie with sticks and have always been a keyboard flyer.

    All the best

    Brian

The key here is trim. Taking off and leveling the a/c with the same trim while also hoping it will remain level may be a bit too much. Make sure to adjust your trim before you takeoff, and during the flight whenever necessary (especially after adjusting throttle or attitude). I own the same joystick, but haven't had any problems at all, so I suspect it's a trim issue.

Its trim, Johan is correct, except for the fact that my cheap wingman extreme is messed up and the darn rudder axis keeps pulling to the left!!! ARGGHHHH!

i myself have the same problem with my wingman extreme. i've gone back to using auto-rudder, and steering while taxiing with the keyboard which sucks. oh well i guess.

i'm very happy with mine . i had a "feedback" but didn't like it and came back to "extreme. i have my "rocker" buttons on the top configured for elevator trim, and it's second nature to adjust trim as IAS changes. experiment, get fsupic, and have fun. tt
