Is this the default 777?
If it is the default 777 try going into alt/aircraft/realism
and enable the "autorudder".

Also, the 777's nose wheel turns the whole 90 degree's (I think), so you must take corners on the ground with only 80% rudder.
If you just whack 100% in any direction it may infact go the wrong way/not turn at all.

How fast are you taxiing? If you taxi to fast you can not steer. You shouldn't be turnning faster than 20 KTS.
Actually Yorky, the default 777 nose gear stearing will turn 180 degrees. As noted, just engage a slight movement on the joy stick to turn it. To make it easy, if the aircraft starts to turn the opposite direction, simply bring the joy stick back to center and than start the turn over again. You will learn on that aircraft that a little does a lot and it takes a little practice. On the default 777 the use of the F11 and F12 brakes really helps with your turns.

Turn a 777 at 20 knots and you will have the chief pilot on your back so fast you would not believe. Just hope that is all. The VP of maintenance just might be watching your taxi in too.

Best thing to do is turn in advance and give it a wide berth. The default 777 (and a few others) don't turn terribly well when you give it full rudder. I usually hold it at around 75% rudder and she takes the corners well.
I also taxi at a maximum of 20 knots and take my corners between 8-10 knots.
When you get into real life flying, your chief pilot will appreciate that for sure. It just helps to learn to do it in flight sim.
