Thread: Q about FSCOF...

  1. Default Q about FSCOF...

They're saying the airports are more detailed, like with runway signs and things. Is that only at the major airports that they were able to edit or did they find a way to do that at all airports? Also, do they have the marker lights that lead up to the runways? (I think that's what you call 'em)

    thanx

From what I've seen/heard, all airports have taxiway signs, but I don't know about these marker lights. I assume that you mean approach lighting? If so, the sim already does a decent job of putting in approach lighting.

That's it, approach lighting. I know it has the lights already, but not the little stands they're on. I'm picky I know.

The actual runway signs at airports can vary from some very nice lighted ones to others that are basically painted plywood. It all depends on how much money the airport owners wish to spend.

Forget the stanchions that hold up the approach lighting system. I would like to see fences and trees on the airports. Nothing gets a pilots heart beating faster than trees on a short runway during a hot summer day.

Yeah, and I would like to see other airports having at least somewhat accurate buildings. I can't stand going to Madrid and seeing the same buildings as I see in some secondary strip in Ukraine!

And also, I'd like to see some esier scenery creators than gMax. I had a go at it, but I can't find the texture button, and designing things and placing them is a chore. Something like one of those add ons where you have like couple of thousand of buildings and objects and thinks, and you just put them on the map and the appear there. Kind of like Lago Scenery Emchancer, but with ability to do your own things, I mean, So that airports can be improved in a couple of hours, not weeks.

But, whatever we say now is irrelevant. MS are probably already thinking about what to put into FS2006!

The airport I fly out of has no signs, guess they don't really need it for 1 runway :-) Acctually they have 2 a left and right but the grass stip isn't marked much at all.

Yes indeed seeing fence and trees coming up fast can really make you sweat a bit and you know you haven't hit rotation speed yet. "Get your feet off the Brakes!" ;-)
