    Default Helio Estrela (helioestrela@ig.com.br) Panels

Helio has created some beautiful panels for the DC10, B747, and the B737 - excellent night lighting.

Big Problem: They did something to two separate computer systems that these panels were loaded to. When I click to start FS2002 from the main desktop, I get the startup screen of the B747 over SFO but then the system stops. After some seconds, I get a "bell" and the only thing that works is the mouse. FS2002 does not load - unless I hit the "esc" key which forces both computers back to the desktop and shows Microsoft Flight Sim in the menu bar at the bottom, supposedly in "minimized" mode. By clicking on the "minimized" button, FS2002 will continue the loading process.

Anyone else experiencing this? And what's the solution? Removing these panels does not help, and overwriting the original FS2002 files (modules) does not help either.

    Thanks,

    Oggie

I've similar problems with Helio Estrela's panels. I downloaded both the 737 and DC-10 panels and they basically crashed FS2002 - would no longer start up at all. First downloads that have ever done that for me. I haven't been able to figure out what it is in the files that causes this, but the only thing that I was able to do to correct it was to uninstall and reinstall FS2002 (First I made copies of all of my modified folders; ie aircraft/addon scenery/gauges..etc) Even after reinstalling FS2002, the sim works, but if I try to load up a plane with those panels, FS2002 locks up.

My sollution: I downloaded Fabrizio Berretta's 737-200 panel and added the interior views from Helio's. I really enjoy Fabrizio's panel. It really goes well with the Yeo Designs 737-200s and it doesn't crash FS2002!

    Andrew,

Thanks for your input - I was beginning to think this was unique to my computers. I have removed his panels but the problem still exists, although we can start the sim by the use of the "esc" key and then clicking on the minimized button that shows up in the startup bar.

I hate the thought of reinstalling FS2002 as I have nearly 24 gb of data in the program - but, maybe it's time to clean house.

    Thanks again,

    Oggie
