Default failing instrument rating lesson, cessna182

I keep failing the instrument rating lesson for cessna 182. I can not get past the holding pattern (hold on 140 radial)at SEA airport. When I come in on 160 heading from PARK intersection at 3000ft., I make a right hand turn at SEA and hold 320 in order to come back in on 140 radial. The lesson ends shortly after I make my right hand turn at SEA. What am I doing wrong?

    ochp,

There don't seem to be any experts around so for the moment you'll have to settle for a guess (repeat guess) from me ...

It sounds to me as if you are perhaps somehow violating implied ATC instructions. Maybe the pattern you're flying is too long, or too wide, or maybe you're not getting back to the fix soon enough. I don't know, I am guessing.

If true then perhaps your implied IFR flight plan is being cancelled without your being informed. (I don't think one is ever informed of such cancellations.)

Not at ATC expert, not a Rob Michado expert.

Thanks for your help. It cleared up a lot of problems that I had with the check ride. I completed it with no problems after reading the thread by Matthias.
