Thread: Can't change resolution for (ALT-Enter) full screen mode

    Default Can't change resolution for (ALT-Enter) full screen mode

    All other versions of FS & CFS let me change the screen resolution for the (ALT-Enter) full-screen mode.

    I can't find it in FS 2002. Running at low resolution in full-screen mode is the pits.

    Have I simply missed the setting or are there none for full screen resolution & color depth?

    Any ideas?

    Go to Options/Settings/Display and click on the Hardware Tab.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi;

    Thanks for the feedback.

    There are no tabs on the Options/Settings/Display screen. This is the screen that I think would normally have the settings that I need. There is a blank, totally white bar accross the top of the screen where tabs might be but nothing is there. When I put the mouse on the white area, the screen flashes like something is wrong.

    I think I might have a bad install of FS2002 but with the exception of this one thing everything else works ok.

    Any ideas on this or should I just go ahead & re-install FS2002 (again)?

    Yep, try a re-install and re-post your results.

    Well...

    I did an un-install then a complete re-install of FS2002. The problem was still there.

    I then got the bright that Stardocks WindowBlinds may be interferring as it tries to skin everything. I made a Per Application exemption for FS 2002 by telling WindowBlinds not to skin FS2002.

    Problem resolved.

    Thank for your ear on this one.

    For my information: Can you explain what WindowBlinds does? Glad you got it working. Now don't set your resolution too high. Disable AA for better FPS.

    Hi Again;

    WindowBlinds is a global skinning program for all versions of Windows (I'm running XP Pro). Stardock (the WindowBlinds people)worked very closly with Microsoft in the development of XP. Microsoft even recommends WindowBlinds (they have put a WindowBlinds for Combat Flight Simulator) on the Microsoft Combat Flight Sim web site.

    WindowBlinds has been around for many years (7 years, I think) & is a very popular web site. They have a package for sell called ObjetDesktop that is very powerful.

    Check out the site at...
