I cant believe it.
There I was at the gates in Luqa Malta, ready with my cleared IFR to Punta Raisi sicily and I called the tower to clear me for taxi. I was cleared and continued to taxi and hold short of runway 32. I called the tower for takeoff clearance and they said clearance approved. Anyway, I was happy until now but when I got to 130 knots down the runway there was a bloody jet coming towards me on the runway. BANG.
Nothing was said from the tower or FS2K2 to explain why this had occured. Is this a known problem?. Maybe I should pay someone to walk the runway first and wave a flag if all is ok.

Another question I have, is how do aircraft see in fog on the ground?.I did hear from a tv program that most accidents occur during taxiing in bad visibility so I wondered if cockpits have a radar of some kind to see in fog?.

First Q: Yes this happens sometimes..something to do with the ATC engine.

Second Q: Good Eyes + taxi lights + ATC = Fog driving. Thats all that they rely on.

At major airports the ground controller(s) have Airport Surveillance Radar to see through fog. (But not through buildings.)

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON Nov-21-02 AT 00:06AM (EST)[/font][p]I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but in cessna flying for myself it is customary to double check the runway despite the tower . This just adds a second level of safety. This may be more may not be a problem with the simulator but nevertheless you always need to check around your aircraft for safety precautions.
the white I said, her this is just a Cessna flying. I do not know what the regulations or procedures are for flying a jumbo jet
