Just a short video showing the Lotus by OK Daley (who also is responsible for the 'LeMans 4 FSX' race track (scenery)) taking on this race track in FSX Accel. I (successfully) tweaked Daley's FDE so it would take turn at higher speeds. With frames set to unlimited I get 60 fps whith this highly complex scenery! That's it. Enjoy. 17Feb27. Link:

Chuck, I knew you drove wheeled vehicles but I was amazed to see how much traction it is possible to get in the sim. Impressed and a little envious we are. There have been a few times when I really wanted good traction on a ground hugger and wasted many an hour in the quest.

Good Race.

I only 'wasted' 13 years (so far) on vehicle dynamics (and still 'working' different values for different aspects). Orion did a fairly good job on dynamics for his cars (with no help from me). I just manipulated ref datum slightly so it would steer better at high speed. Orion uses front brakes (I don't), he relies on differential braking (I don't) he cuts throttle on curves (I don't). Just different way of doing things. His Lotus still goes 180+ mph. So it's: 'Different strokes for different folks'. (Except I could pass him up and leave him in my dust at anytime I chose : ).
