M4TT2016
My system is as follows: # I7 2600k @ 4.5ghz # MSI gtx 750 ti. Overclocked from 1058 to 1158MHz offset and 3099 to 3499MHz mem clock # Kingston hyperx fury ssd # 16gb ram Corsair vengeance. # Asus P8P67 pro rev 3.1 I was thinking of a gtx 980 but wants to know what, if any difference I could expect. Thank you Matthew Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
willy647
There will be some gain, but don't expect too much ! They both run at about the same speed, but the 980 has 4GB mem instead of 2GB Why not go for a 1070 ?
M4TT2016
What does the memory actually do on the GPU then? I've considered 1070 but I'm somewhat price limited Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

willy647
Unlike FSX, P3D does make use of the GPU memory Use this site to compare your favorite cards and make up your mind :) http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-750-Ti-vs-GeForce-GTX-1060

M4TT2016
I still feel like this hasn't been answered. Facts and figures are great but I'm looking for some input from people who have upgraded and can provide feedback on what I can expect to see. lnuss
All I can offer is that I went from a GTX 570 to a GTX 970, and got a nice performance increase, so it was worth it to me. But I don't know how big the change will be from a 750, though I'm sure there will be some improvement. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science! pugilist2
I would get the 980ti instead of the regular 980. I upgraded when the 980ti was released and saw a pretty nice gain in FPS in P3D. Although, looking at your specs you should also upgrade your CPU, motherboard, and ram to DDR4 to see the most improvement. Currently am planning an upgrade as well. Am waiting for the 1080ti to be released next month and then the i7-7740K along with a new motherboard and 32gb of DDR4 ram. SocataOne
With a new line of CPU's coming from AMD next month, I'd personally hold off on any pending upgrades/purchases until we see real-world benchmarks (leaked benchmarks, and benchmarks from the manufacturer, should be viewed skeptically - however they do appear promising). Ryzen may deliver the performance you need, for a lot cheaper (~$500 vs ~$1700 for top of class). You can still run an Nvidia card with an AMD mobo/cpu if you wish.
