texvindictive
I was looking to repaint an A380 for myself. I wanted an American Airline. All the models I run into, the textures are locked up. I use Photoshop. I can save dds. and bmp. When i place the textures they come out looking like metal. Can't get my textures to appear on 380 models. Is there something I'm missing when saving the file in Photoshop? Any suggestions? FSX
tvieno
Get the tool DXTBmp from http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm . Drag your texture into the program. Click Image > Send to Editor (make sure DXTBmp points to your Photoshop, set in the Prefs > Select Editor) It will open a file called norm.bmp in PS. Make or import any changes you need to. Be sure to Flatten the image, then save. Make sure it saves as a bmp and not a psd file. In DXTBmp, click Image > Reload after Edit. Click File> Save and Ok. Yes to overwrite. Now the metal look look is the alpha channel. Using DXTBmp, when you load the texture, you will see a box in the upper right labeled Alpha Channel. Depending on the type of bmp, the alpha channel either affects how much shine the texture has or how transparent it is. The rule of thumb is the darker the alpha channel, the shinier or more transparent the texture is and conversely with white. Click Alpha> Export to Editor. A file will open in PS called trans.bmp. Make your edits and save (again flattening the image) Click Alpha > Refresh Alpha. And then Save and so on. http://my.flightmemory.com/pic/tvieno.gifhttp://www.vatsimsigs.co.uk/Status/1136602.jpg
