Missing Textures on the A/C at night , please help

Hi

Im not sure if its directX 8.2 related or not but some of my A/C have missing textures when thay are viewed at night , here are 2 of them .

The first is an project opensky Lufthansa A300 , notice the black textures

and this one is from the Commuter Airlines Eurowings add on and its an A319

I have Windows 98se , Athlon 2000 xp ,512 ddr , GF4 ti 4400 running the 40.72s and Direct x 8.2 ,
I was wondering if it is the new DirectX 8.2 thats done this or could it be that the night textures for the A/C have been left out or some thing like that or maybe its the drivers im using .
I have seen a post about problems some one had with reflections and Direct X 8.2 but i cant see that it would make the textures not appear on the A/C in my case .

I have uninstalled DX 8.2 and reinstalled 8.1 also i have installed the 30.00 drivers and changed my AGP size from 128 to 64 but its still the same .

Has any one else got this problem ? Simon any ideas whats wrong ? my moneys on some ones forgot to to the night textures for the parts of the A/C . I also have a B757 which has a black tail cone as well .

Your card is recent, so it unless its damaged, it should be ok. I have a GF44400ti also. perhaps its the 4400 ti having problems with reflective textures?

Are your lighting settings maxed? Are your aircraft textures at massive setting? try maxing the aircraft texture settings, see if it helps. Have you installed any lighting effect add-ons that could affect the base textures?

I don't have any of the planes you post about, so I can't say if its missing textures, but if playing with those settings doesn't help, it might be. Or is there any common element you can identify (reflections, logos, lights, anything)? As for odd textures, I once d/l a repainted plane that in the daytime showed on airlines textures and at night another's... neat huh? Check for updates for those textures/planes. Its common place fixes being added later to correct minor texture issues on planes.

Otherwise, I can't think of anything else.

The Aircraft texture settings are at max settings and lighting is at 8 , i have tryied lowering the number of lights and its still the same . Hmmmmmmm this is anoying , i cant remember having problems like this before . I have sent an email to Just flight about the problems with the PSS 777 and 747 and also to Aerosoft about the A319 problem .
I have an old GF 3 ti 200 doing nothing so i may put that in to see if its the card plus i also did a screen shot of the PSS 777 some time ago and posted it to the screen shot forum so im going to go and try and track it down to take a look at it as it was then and see if any things changed . By the way the GF 4 ti 4400 is a leadtek model . I checked the reflections again at night and thay do appear when all the lights are off but disapear when the lights are on again so this could be normal .
If you get time can you do me a faver please and down load the A300 from AVSIM and check it out at night please . Its a Lufthansa A300-600 .

you have nothing to loose trying with your GF3. As for the Posky A300, Im trying to find, to give it a try.

I found one A300-600R, but its not POSKY, its a Project Airbus, which, BTW I have. Is that the Lufthansa Airbus you're talking about? Anyway, I'll look at the PA A300 textures tonight. If its another plane, please post the zip file name or anyotyher reference that my help me locate it.

I tried the GF3 and its still the same , i may have been wrong with the makers of the A300 , if you do a search on AVSIM under FS2002 A/C , type in A300 and its the Lufthansa A300-600 v3 ( its the only Lufthansa one there ) . If you do down load it then change the settings to Night time then have a look at it from the spot plane view so that the view is from above the A/C then look at the wings for the black textures .

I have joined the Project Airbus forum ( who made the A300 ) and told them of the problem i was having with it , thay said that the A/C was made for FS2000 and runs in FS2002 but there is a texture problem with it in FS2002 ( hence the black textures on the wings ) with night textures . thay hope to do a 100 % FS2002 version one day .
I have checked the other add on on a friends PC ( the commuter Airlines one ) and the A319 from that add on is the same as mine , so it looks like my PC is ok and i will be installing DX8.2 again ( i dont normally fly on line so im not worried about the multiplayer bug ) and the WHQL 40.72s.
