Any comments or concerns on running P3D on a 55" 4K with a i7 chip and GTX 1080??

Set up the new PC for p3d and other flight sim software, but the one component that we felt we should have researched more was the monitor - very underwhelmed by the visual real estate and want to return this 34" Predator ASIS G-Sync curved monitor.

For the price we can obtain a Sony 55" 4K HDEF....we are looking for an expansive (immersive) effect with a smooth FR, as per this forums recommendation, we are starting with a clean install - no tweaking, no visual add-on software yet, etc.

I realize the demand may effect the FPS, my PC builder believes it will run well, any experience with 4K??

Really same answer as before. There a lot of people running 4K monitors and HDTV with great results. STart out basic and let your system find a balance spot between software and hardware. This is a VISUAL medium, therefore your criteria of success should be VISUAL. Do not pay attention to FPS or any other benchmarks or other magic numbers. Adjust your system AS NECESSARY to achieve the best visual and performance options.

Try to find the sweet spot, the lowest FPS setting that gives you the SMOOTHEST performance. You might be surprised at how low you can go on a well tuned system and still maintain smooth performance.

Thanks Vic, yes absolutely sticking to your philosophy, enjoy the T-37 Lt, patience, the T-38 will come... ;)

Downloading P3 now, I will have to load up Aerosoft's A320 software pretty quick once I confirm it's a no bug P3d download for school. If there is any NFG issues, I will holler - appreciate the feedback...

Got to love Costco 1.5 miles away, pulled in a 55" 4K E-Series, with that 90 day no question's asked policy, its like an R&D unit for flight simmers...

I just returned my Predator 34" and got the E-series 55" 4K....will report on its performance, but man thats a difference in real estate!
