giorda35
I wish to modify a gauge. It is quite simple with cab files; there is a way to read gau and dll gauges? Thanks giorda35
evm
.gau and .dll gauges are programmatic addons, they cannot be modified. They were written in C++ and were compiled to machine code. Unless you have the C++ source code and know how to program in that language, there is nothing that you can change (except maybe exchanging the odd bitmap picture, if it is saved somewhere else). giorda35
Thanks evm. Your reply is not good for me but . . . . well ok. giorda
airausquin
Giorda, in the case of the .gau gauges you can modify the bitmaps, by using the old goof gau2bmp program, which should be at the library. It does extract the BMP of the gauges, and allow to reinsert the modified versions. Of course, always respect the copyrights of the gauge owners: Do not modify payware gauges for public release and always ask gauge creators for permission for releasing the modified versions. n4gix
FS Panel Studio will also allow you to extract, modify and reinsert .gau and .dll bitmaps, providing you do not alter the size of the bitmap(s).
