azzaro Posted July 22, 2016 Share Posted July 22, 2016 Forty plus years after the show went off the air, I discover the iconic bus rusting away at a little airstrip just south of Jefferson Co. I spoke to the bedraggled residents of the rotting trailer and this was their tale-o-woe... As it turns out, upon the show's demise, Shirley ran off with Reuben, getting by on royalties from his sandwiches until the bottom fell out of the sauerkraut business. Keith and Susan had to hock their teeth to make ends meet and Danny was forced to become a sparring dummy. Tracy & Chris held several jobs as lawn gnomes until they grew too tall to pull it off. And here they all are. Living in a shack at some out of the way airstrip in Washington state. Looking back on what was and what might have been.
