    Default Drivers

Saturday Night I bought a MSI GeForce2 Pro 64mb card from www.monarchcomputer.com it should be at my house with in the next few days. The drivers located on the MSI web site http://www.msi.com.tw/support/driver/vga_driver.htm do these drives come with additional features such as over clocking? Or will I loose these features if I download the new drivers?

Best thing to do is see which version of the driver comes with your card, and then seeing if MSI have an updated version. The OEM drivers are usually modified to allow things like overclocking, something which isn't available with the Nvidia reference drivers.

In my experiance tho, the generic Nvidia drivers available at www.nvidia.com are nearly always faster and more reliable than the OEM drivers supplied by the card manufacturer.

I got my card Wednesday night and I instaled the DetinatorXP drivers but all of the overclocking tabs stayed. Also the Card came with a utility seperate from the drivers. I really recomend this card. I haven't played around with it too much but I already have it overclocked to 220mhz core and 420mhz memory. I have read that this card runs stable at 240mhz core and 480mhz memory I will try that later. I really dont see too much preformance increase in FS2000, but I see a very good frame rate increase in Train Sim. This card can preform at GF2 Ultra specs and it only cost me $120us. And on www.newegg.com you can get a remanufactured one for $99us. Deffenitaly a card to look into if you want to get ready for FS2K2 with out spending too much.
