I have the freeware A330-200 for American Airlines off of AVSIM. Reg N290AY Anyways I fly with FS Passengers and When I'm Taxiing and I Change Views The Aircraft Starts bouncing and causes FS Passengers to think i crashed. Any idea why or any fix for this? Thanks for the help.

Does it do OK if you don't change views? Do you have a link to that AVSIM file?

Never mind the link, I found it here in our Library. As I figured, it's a POSKY aircraft and you can use the "Alternate" contact points in the aircraft.cfg to see if that fixes your problem.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Make a back-up of the file FIRST. If we totally mess it up you can start over from the beginning.

After that, open it with NotePad or NotePad++. Do NOT use a word-processor, as they add symbols to the file that make it unreadable to the Sim. If you have the Sim parked in \Program Files (X86) or \Program Files copy the file to the desktop or Windows won't let you save it. When all done, save it, close it, copy it back to where you got it from, replacing what's there, but not the back-up.

To activate the "alternate" contact points, put double slashes (//) in front of all the contact points that do NOT have them, and remove the double slashes from the ones that DO have them. Reverse the way they are now, basically. Put a // into any line that doesn't have them, take them away from in front of the others.

Forget about the double slashes in front of the first 16 lines below the [contact_points] heading. They simply explain what each number in each contact point is/does. Start where it says point.0 and work from there.

Hope that helps some. If it doesn't fix the problem, there is an .air file adjustment you can make that will reduce that bouncing problem...

Pat☺

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Pat's right.

Just to add, putting a double-slash // in front of a line, changes the line to a "Comment".

Meaning the line is still in the file, as info for you, or to keep track of original values. But the line is not read or loaded in fs9/fsx when the plane is used. It is effectively 'knocked out'.

Oh, sure, Mr. Zippy, just show me up. Make an easier way :p  :o

Of course, his way will work too, but MY way is better. So there, neener!

Why? Because with me way you can do ANY thing to any plane. HIS way, is ONLY for that ONE plane. HAH!

I say again, NEENER!

:D ;)

Boy, am I being silly today or what? Sorry, just kidding. His way works fine. I'm just being obnoxious.

Pat☺

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Just don't blow off any body parts if you're playing with fireworks tonight. Hearing lots of stories on the news so far today!

I dunno about smoking fireworks, but I saw some afterwards!

I don't "play" with fire works anyway. After 10 years in the Corps, I've seen and "played" with enough to last a lifetime!

I may get a sparkler, or two, but that's about it.

Happy 4th to you all, though! And remember WHY we are free to celebrate it.

Pat☺
