asos
With ADE I tried to add a Tower and other communication frequencies to KPNT, and could not. 3 Frequencies appear in the list which are not deletable. Any help please? Nick
StringBean
No problem here... Bring up the COMM list and click on the Add button. Fill in the info you want, ATIS must use the ICAO code for the Name. The three light gray frequencies are not part of that airport's data and are shown for your reference, so you do not assign one that is in use nearby. They cannot be deleted from this airport because they are not part of this airport. So, to help you we need to know more than "it won't work". peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? asos
StringBean, Thanks-- I managed to add the frequencies. But then this happened: My file was saved at : C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\Airport Design Editor 165\FSX\Projects\KPNT_ADEX_NT.ad4 (NT is my initials). Then I CUT "KPNT_ADEX_NT.ad4" from that address and pasted it into: D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery\KPNT_ADEX_NT.ad4 My FSX is installed in my D drive and works fine. On opening KPNT in the sim, the tower freq was not there--nothing had changed, and I did not see FSX building a data base while it was opening... Clearly, something is wrong--it may not have compiled as a working bgl. I cut and repasted the file from the Addon Scenery\scenery folder back into: C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\Airport Design Editor 165\FSX\Projects\KPNT_ADEX_NT.ad4 Then I reopened the KPNT_ADEX_NT.ad4 file in ADE. Then I looked at the ADE menu and searched for a command "compile" and did not find any. What should I do?
StringBean
The .ad4 file is your ADE project file. FS cannot use that file, you need to compile the airport to a .bgl file... peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. asos
Thanks, I must have been blind as a bat not to see that compile button. You saved my day. Nick
