Hello there,

Recently I've tried changing the sounds of my 737's sound folder. What I mean by that is for example, I replace the flaps.wav file with another sound and then rename it to flaps.wav, so that its a different sound, but its the same name (and yes this method works for this flaps.wav file and a few other sounds).

However, when I try to change the sound of this certain TSS-Cockpit.wav file (The sound that plays in my cockpit), my replacement sound does not play at all. In the sound.cfg, I've made sure that the volume is at 10000 so that I could make sure if its actually playing, and I've made sure that my replacement-sound is a 16-bit PMC wav file (or whatever you call it). I've tried messing with the configs and everything. And yes, the original TSS-Cockpit.wav sound DOES WORK! It's only when I try to use my replacement sound that nothing plays at all.

Bottom line

I've tried to replace a certain sound, and FSX didn't play that sound.

I've also had this issue back a few years back. I would do my editing work in Audacity and save the file as 16-bit PCM wav, but it wouldn't playback in FSX for some reason.

Interestingly, I found that if I reopened the file in Adobe Audition and resaved it as is, the file would magically play in the sim. I've downloaded your soundfile, and resaved it using Audition.

Hopefully it works.

Glad to help! Also glad that I wasn't the only one with such an issue.

Happy simming!
