SWE_Pilot
Hello guys! When i uninstall FSX there is always a map left named Fonts. That map doesn't want to budge. I tried launching in safe mode, i tried MSConfig and unchecked windows fonts thingy but still no result. Bascially it says that it is open in another program. Any ideas or any program i can try to remove it? //Elias
il88pp
I assume when you say map you mean folder, yes? In that case, where is this folder exactly? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mrzippy
Have you tried power cycling your computer? Sometimes it takes a re-boot or shutdown to delete a folder like that. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

SWE_Pilot
I assume when you say map you mean folder, yes? In that case, where is this folder exactly? Well, its basically Prepar3D but i also had this problem with FSX:SE its basically the same thing about fonts. Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Fonts
longbreak754
It could well be that a file in the folder is 'in use' but relies on another file within the folder to be present to run - hence the message that a file is in use by another program. Try the following: Open the folder and individually delete each file separately. By deleting each file in turn you will find the file(s) that are in use, as you will not be able to delete it. Continue with deleting files that you can until you are left with only those files that you can't. You should then be able to either delete the remaining files straight away or after a reboot. Once the folder is empty you can then delete it. Regards Brian
il88pp
I found this puppy. (I googled: P3D fonts folder remains after uninstall) http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=108750 also found this one, some good ideas in there. http://www.avsim.com/topic/458765-unable-to-delete-fonts-folder-fsx/ In case that don't give you enough ideas to solve it, we also have a P3D forum here on the site. They may be better at assisting. You can find it lower on the main forum page: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/forum.php and here's a direct link to it: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/forumdisplay.php?81-Prepar3D Btw, why is this fonts folder an issue? Does it prevent you from reinstalling P3D, or is it just you trying to clean up loose ends? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

My question is, why did/do you choose P3D at all? I'm much happier with FSX and have bought and paid for both.;) Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
