Guest Robert455 Posted April 24, 2016 Share Posted April 24, 2016 I recorded a quick flight but this time added a mask to the video to hide the edges of the eye images so the jitter there wouldn't be distracting. Now you can see the smoothness of the images even though what we see in VR is displayed at 90 frames per second and this video is only recorded at 30. You are only seeing one out of every three frames that we see. In the Vive, we don't see the edges either but I just roughed in the mask and it should not be taken as representative of the field of view. It's only to let people see how smooth the view is. The Vive has a significantly higher effective resolution than the Rift DK2 and has room scale tracking so you can get out of your aircraft. It's a freaky thing that really increases the feeling of actually having a real airplane to hop into and fly away. Virtual Reality flying in Ant's Airplanes Tiger Moth with the HTC Vive.
