Save changes to cfg

Recommended Posts

After downloading, I tried to install a new livery/repaint to a POSKY aircraft already installed. I inserted the appropriate lines under a

new fltsim heading in the Aircraft cfg. But when I try to save the changes, I am advised by a message panel that I do not have

permission to save and that I should contact administrator to obtain permission. How do I do this? And why does this only occur

rarely? Usually I have no problems of this type.

Did you install FS2004 in: C:\Program Files (x86) perhaps?

Windows prevents changes to the C:\Program Files (x86)

folder. (And some other folders.)

You need to ok these changes as system admin. If this is your own PC you should have the administrator password.

If not, you will have to ask the owner of the pc.

To avoid these issues many people install FS2004 to a different location.

C:\FS2004

for example.

I made a quick change for you! You don't want the "Queen" of the FS2004 forum to become upset!;)

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
