evm Posted November 30, 2015 Share Posted November 30, 2015 In case you want to try again: Add only the Traffic Toolbox part from the code above to the DLL.XML and lose the other two (Object placement and visual effects) And before you revert back, please let us see your edited DLL.XML btw. I think you should delete the line in the TRUSTED section as seen in your first post, referencing a DLL that is not there any more. It should not hurt your sim, but it is definitely unnecessary. evm Posted December 1, 2015 Share Posted December 1, 2015 Curious. You made sure that your SDK version matches your FSX version right? AFAIK visualfx.dll errors are often caused by content (airplanes etc.) and/or corrupt files. The long time starting up the sim does point to SimConnect again IMHO. I think you should install the Simconnect client from the SDK: /Core Utilities Kit/SimConnect SDK/lib/SimConnect.msi. Provided that you are really really sure that your SDK is the right one for your sim. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jim Robinson Posted December 1, 2015 Share Posted December 1, 2015 One thing you can do to verify versions are matched up correctly is do Properties on traffictoolbox.dll, then on the details tab you should see file version 10.0.61637.0 (assuming Acceleration). Now if you do properties/details on fsx.exe you should also see 10.0.61637.0. Those version numbers need to match in order for things to work correctly so have a look and make sure. Years ago I did a reinstall and for some reason not installed Acceleration. I'm really sorry I thought Acceleration was installed. I got a headache..... I don't know if the install has effected payware scenery or aircraft but Ill work thru it. So sorry about this... Thanks to all for patience and understanding. FSXA CD tip. All SDK and Acceleration installs did fine if I CLOSED ALL windows and internet windows. Until I did so the CD drive just spun and spun. Ive tried several Payware AI's and have had to many issues. I forgot the publisher but it wiped all my installed AI. Customer service were not very helpful in bringing back selected custom AI.
