Problem with Logitech joystick

I just got a new (to me) Logitech extreme 3D pro and everything works great except the only problem is the hat switch won't look around like it is supposed to. I tried to change it in the controls menu but say if for look right I push it to the right and then when it says look left it deletes what I saved for look right

I use the Logitech extreme 3D pro as well.

Here's how to set that Hat-Switch (that's what that is called).

In FSX, controls, in Buttons/Keys,

Scroll down to the event "View (pan)"

double click it, then move your Hat-Switch on the joystick.

(you can move it in any direction, doesn't matter.)

Save.

set the slider (on the right of the "View (pan)" event, to maximum.

Then click ok to save the new assignment.
