mabe5454
http://www.cnet.com/news/windows-10-scores-5-slice-of-desktop-os-market/ Among all desktop operating systems, Windows 7 remained on top last month with a Web traffic share of 57.6 percent, followed by Windows XP with 12 percent and Windows 8.1 with 11.4 percent. Amazing but Win 7 was that good as well as XP at its time. Cheers,
ftldave
Not mentioned in the article, but maybe significant to those who year after year drag dead penguins around like they are alive, Linux with 1.5 percent, according to Gartner Group. But, hey, Linux gives hack tech writers something to write about, something to turn in to their editors for a few bucks or pounds or whatever. I've always believed that's desktop Linux' best success. :p
RatRace
I hope this doesn't drag into one of those Linux - other OS, or Nike vs Canon, or FSX vs X-plane discussions. Among serious (are there any other?) flightsimmers Linux is unlikely to be very popular, given the limited number of options. Flightgear, and ... ? Part of X-plane's popularity is no doubt its availability for platforms other than MS Windows. Maybe Linux needs a killer flightsim app ;)
