Losing Multiplayer View when in MP

In multiplayer there is a view which aims your camera directly at the other player, regardless of location or distance. You can access it either through the 'S' - 'SHIFT S' sequence or through the view menus. But occasionally that view goes away. Usually it is either there or not from the time you login/connect in MP, but once in a great while it will disappear during the session. Dropping the session and reentering, or even restarting P3D will sometimes bring the view back, but not always. When this happens, you can still select the other "player" through SHIFT-O, etc, though his name won't always appear in the upper right corner (sometimes it does).

The friend I usually fly with has never had this happen, but it's happened to me, occasionally, through FSX and P3D, including on my previous computer system with FSX (it was on Win XP, this one is on W7). We've always connected via IP direct, and which of us hosts isn't a factor, either.

Any thoughts?

Evidently no one else is running into this. Perhaps it's a race condition on my machine, or something to do with settings, but so far I have no starting point for an investigation.

Sorry, I never go MP, so I have no clue (which is a normal condition for me).

I would do what I could, if I could, but I can't, so I shant. :D

Sorry...

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

I never use it when I fly MP Larry but I've been trying it lately and it works as expected. probably some random bit interfering every now and then.

Thanks, Vic -- most times it works fine for me, but once in a while it acts up. No pattern I've been able to determine. Of course I likely use it in ways different from most, since most of my sim time is MP, low and slow (or sometimes low and fast) with a specific friend, and for certain things we pretty much depend on the MP view (he never has this problem -- just me. It's likely something somewhere in my system -- it did this occasionally on FSX, too).
