PMDG 772F - Qatar Cargo *fictional* flight: EHBK - OTHH

Recommended Posts

Part 1/1

Hey everyone!

I'd like to share my first flight with you. It was a nice easy flight, I'm still getting to know the ins and outs of the PMDG 777 but it's getting more and more familiar. Which is nice. (sorry for the jpg compression - open images to see them in full glory)

I wanted to do a flight out of Maastricht because my uncle (which introduced me to plane spotting - which led to me liking photography - which led that to it now being my full time job!) lives right by it. I like that airport because it brings up old memories and I found out that Aerosoft made a beautiful add-on for it. Sometimes freighter or larger aircraft stop by Maastricht for maintenance or paint, very rarely because of a diversion. Let's just imagine that Qatar Airways decided to fly to Maastricht for cargo purposes (my uncle would be thrilled if it were RL, not alot goes on there haha).

So let's get things going! We started out very early in the morning, taking off at 6:05AM so we could get back to Qatar in time. Just before heading out to the airport this shot was taken right by the spotting fences. (I have old photos from that angle, love payware scenery for the detail and immersion)

Turning back sharp at the start of the runway to get aligned for take-off.

I feel way to old for fantasizing this way but I guess I'd like to think my uncle took this shot lol. :p

Thanks guys for taking this trip with me. I really enjoyed making my first flight story since about 7 years. It's been great. Expect more, and if you have questions please do ask!

Have a beautiful, beautiful day!

- Marc

Edit; Sorry for this post's technical hickup. All shots fixed now!

Thank you kindly gentlemen!

Rupert: I'm running an Imac 5K system (bootcamp) with the following specs:

I7-4790K @ 4.00ghz

32GB RAM

AMD Radion R9 M295X 4gb (Which apparently is a pain to get working nicely, but I think I got that down now)

256GB SSD Drive

Addons in this particular set of shots:

PMDG 777-200F with Qatar livery + Immersive 777 for the condensation

REX Texture Direct (clouds, sky, water)

REX Essential Plus Overdrive (weather generator)

ORBX Base & Vector

Aerosoft EHBK and Taxi2Gate OTHH

All settings on max in fsx, it's running at 3840x2160 pixels so have turned off all anti aliasing (little amount of jaggies though but not at all disturbing). Averaging around 30fps at busy payware airports with ai to up to 90 in the air.
