Air Madagascar Flight 115 is a Douglas C-47 flying from Iringa, Tanganyika (now Tanzania) to Dar es Salaam, Tanganyika (HTIR – HTDA). We have 270 gallons of fuel on board for the two hundred forty four mile flight. The total flight time is about 1 hour and 53 minutes. The weather for the flight is for fair weather with scattered cloud cover. We will be cruising at an altitude of 9,000 feet and our entire flight with take place within Tanganyika.

5. Climbing through 7,000 feet over the high plains as we head toward the mountains.

6. We are at our cruising altitude of 9,000 feet with moderate cloud cover.

7. Passing over the Udzungwa Mountains about eighty five miles out of Iringa.

8. A look back over our left wing at the east foothills of the mountains.

9. Now about a hundred miles from Dar es Salaam we look back at the Uluguru Mountain Range with the Mikumi National Park below.

11. Over the eastern high plains fifty miles from Dar es Salaam we make a course correction.

12. We begin our descent near Mzenga a popular Safari area with abundant wildlife.

13. As the sun sinks lower we continue to descend over the Banda Forrest Reserve.

14. We are descending through 5,000 feet 20 miles out of Dar es Salaam over the Kazimzumbwi

Forrest Reserve.

15. About twelve miles from the airport we turn toward the airport.

16. Over the western suburbs of Dar es Salaam we are four miles from the airport.

17. We see the Indian Ocean way beyond the airport on our final approach to Rwy. 5 about a mile and a half out at 600 feet.

Another fantastic retro flight Larry, I always look forward to these flights. :cool::cool::cool: The DAK looks beautiful wearing the Air Madagascar livery :cool::cool::eek:
