Thread: Flightsim.com logon screen...

    Default Flightsim.com logon screen...

LAST EDITED ON Jan-25-03 AT 07:09PM (EST)[p]I remember quite a while ago someone posted a topic in here with a screenshot of the flightsim.com login screen from years ago (it was blue with a picture of the real Meigs Field). At the time that very same login screen was in use and it was meant to show how little the site had changed over time - I saw that as a good thing and to tell the truth I liked the old login screen better. Does anyone agree? Could it be changed back?

OK, new rule in the forum. If you are going to post something, you are required to read the replies before you go and post the exact same thing again.

I'm assuming it was you who posted this same subject, with the exact same wording, a week or two ago. Search the messages and find what people had to say.

I posted this message but it didn't appear (everything in the Outer Marker was blank, I came back a few days later and it was still blank, its only now working). Anyway, I assumed my message never showed up and now that the OM is working again I only went back two pages to see if it did in fact appear; I didn't see it. I just checked again now that you said that and it's on the third page back.

It's not likely to get changed back any time soon. We needed additional space for advertising, on the pages that people use the most, and so we made the change that you now see.

The picture you remember also was not a screen shot. It was an actual photo of the real Meigs field, that I took myself sitting in the pilot's seat of my plane turning in to land. All flightsimmers should have the chance to do this for real some time in their life :-)

Obviously, it's all about $$$ - Since most people have to use this screen, flightsim.com puts it's banners there. Makes sense. Probably are the ads that sell for the most since its the most viewed page.

Hey here's a marketing idea...they should put some advertising on the failed log-in page. That must be the most frequently visited page on flightsim.com :-) Seriously, its almost impossible to login at peak times now
