VFR_Steve
This weekend, Vulcan XH558, departed Doncaster Airport in Yorkshire to fly over all her sisters in tribute to the huge contribution they made to defend the skies over Britain during the Falklands. It was a truly memorable and emotional weekend, as she flew over each remaining Vulcan to wave goodbye - As she too, will be grounded forever in October. All over the country roads were closed, due to the shear volume of people who wanted to see this wonderful aircraft one last time. I was at both of these locations over the weekend, it's something I'll remember for the rest of my life. See here>> The flight below is the exact route taken, the first of two flight. Thanks for your time and hope you like the shots. adamb
Sad to see all these great classics both military and civilian gone forever. At least I can say i've flown on and seen most of the old aircraft, from the 40's up. In fact my first plane ride was on a TWA Connie from Pittsburgh to Chicago in 1961, showing my age I guess. :D Great shots of such a great aircraft Steve, thanks for sharing! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jfwright
Spectacular set of pictures. The Vulcan looks great in the camouflaged livery with your excellent scenery. Very nice tribute to a wonderful fighter. Jim I am a King Air fan. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
KCD
Wonderful recreation, Steve, sad to see these old birds put out to pasture! So, Adam, you want to talk about showing your age, my first flight was on a DC-3 from Providence to Newark in 1947 with my father (Mom and sister took the train); I was ten. peer01
WOW!! and WOW again! One of your best posts so far Steve!:cool::cool::cool: My first flight was in Carvair from Rotterdam to Southend, the returnflight in a Bristol Freighter, in 1962 if I remember well. So I'm still a young and pretty hero! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

HoggyDog
Great series, Steve, including the YouTubery! I can't categorically say that the Vulcan is THE most beautiful bomber ever built, but she has that strange quality of extreme beauty while at the same time managing to be almost surrealistically sinister. Truly one of a kind. i7-10700K @3.8-5.1GHz, 32GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM, GTR-2060 Super 8GB, 2x SSDs

Excellent captures of that grand old fighter Steve.  :D Much appreciated thanks very much :D Excellent series of screenshots Steve!!!! Thanks glad you enjoyed them mate! Truly one of a kind. I have to say that she IS the most beautiful bomber to me! :D But I know what you mean, she definitely has a sinister side. Thinking about it the Lancaster is probably more beautiful.. tough to call! But when you see her in the skies above the UK this summer is something I'm very proud to be a part of, I think people will remember this forever.
