What is your process for taking screenshots throughout flights?

Recommended Posts

I'm struggling to find the right way to go about documenting flights from start to finish through screenshots. If I pause every time I want a shot, it ruins the continuity of the experience. If I DON'T pause, I risk losing control of the aircraft. This is mostly a problem on takeoffs and landings (obviously). During cruise I don't mind spending some time outside of the bird while the AP takes over the controls.

So, I'm curious what other simmers' processes are. Do you pause for every screenshot? Do you take your screens in real time while you fly? Do you record the flight and then go back and watch it/take screenshots off the recording? (And if you do the last one, do you use the default flight video feature or an additional program?)

Thanks in advance for sharing your tactics with me!

I just hit pause and then go to spot view and hit the V key. Later, after the flight is over I go through all of the screenshots and delete the ones I do not like. You can also use fs-recorder to record your flight and then later on play it back and take your screenshots.

90% of my screens are from the cockpit so I just snap as I go. Like this one. Simple by itself but with a take-off/climb/descent series of shots, it tells the complete story even if individually it seems at the time something average.

When I use FSX (my main sim) I just go to spotplane view and push V (in-game screenshot key) and different points of flight!
