Default Kansas City Airspace Scanner

LAST EDITED ON Jan-23-03 AT 10:13AM (EST)[p]I have set up a scanner to transmit whatever it picks up in Kansas City airspace... I put up a 20 foot mast and an 8 foot antenna in my back yard (the mast is made out of plumbing pipe and extremely strong and the antenna is a Radio Shack omnidirectional deal that I got for only $15). I can clearly hear most planes (unless they are on the ground) and almost all controllers. I periodically switch to check OJC's ATIS but it will mostly be just scanning everywhere. Anyway enjoy!

I hope it works... This is my first time using shoutcast. Also, since this is off of a cable connection, I limited users to 15 with 24kbps/user. If it fills up and I have upload to spare I will try to put up the users. The server should be up most of the time today and some of the time tomorrow (in the evening I am going to KMCI so I will be taking the scanner with me).

EDIT: Being scanned:
*KC approach
*KC departure
*KC center
*KMCI clearance
*KMCI tower
*KMCI ground
*KOJC ground
*KOJC tower
*KCAC line service (At KOJC)
*KIXD tower
*KIXD ground
*121.5 (a challenger made an emergency descent this morning and I don't think I've heard from it again...)
*Some others... I've forgotten all of what I've put in there

Also, roadrunner is horrible and keeps disconnecting now and then so I'm switching to everest tonight so the IP will be different.

Cool thanks... I restarted the server just now and there's about a 1 minute delay because for some reason my sound properties got switched to mic instead of line in... I've definitely got it working now so I will just leave it as is heh.

I have now switched to Everest and this scanner will be on all the time (well as much as possible) on the new ip below. I will just leave it on KOJC's ATIS overnight because this airspace is pretty quiet after about 8:00pm.
