Using the computer's binary calculator to figure out Affinity Mask Value

I want to set the Affinity Mask for P3D-- v2.5

I have an 8 core system.

I want cores 1, 3, 5, & 7-- ON ; and cores 2, 4, 6, & 8-- OFF.

I know when entering the values for each core on the calculator, they are to be entered in backwards order 8 to 1 from left to right.

I want 8 to = zero.... BUT...

The calculator in binary / word mode won't let me start the sequence with a lead-zero all the way to the left. It will only let me start the sequence with a 1... and I don't want to do that.

Is there a way to force a lead-zero in that calculator in order to figure it out? Or if somebody else has a better calculator to force that lead zero and can give me the Affinity Mask Value, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Now as an edit to this question/answer, I had another person I spoke with on the AVSIM say that P3D v2.5 had been updated as such that the affinity mask setting to open cores is no longer necessary ; as it seems to kno to do it on its own. Would u say there is some truth to this?
