VFR_Steve
55 years ago yesterday, Vulcan XH558 took off for the first time, from the runway outside the Avro factory at Woodford where she was assembled. Now it's her final airshow season, the last flying Vulcan - How I will dearly miss her. http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/16be2c.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/2.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/3.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/6.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/4.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/7.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/8.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/5.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/9.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/05/26/10.jpg

I'm hoping to see her at least a couple more times before she rests her wings for good.. A very very sad day that will be :(

adamb
Although I've never seen the Vulcan other than pictures or videos, I'm sure she will be missed from the airshow circuit! Great job displaying the old girl Steve!! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
KCD
Another great flight in another great plane! Unfortunately, it's a bit cramped jamming in behind the pilot's seat, not much rooom in thewse things.
HoggyDog
What a stunning set of screenshots, and what a stunning airplane the Avro Vulcan has always been. I saw one at Offut AFB once (forget when) and I still remember that glorious trademark howl! I still remember having a lump in my throat during that James Bond movie (the first one, with Sean Connery- Thunderball, I think it was called) when they ditched a Vulcan in the Caribbean. I wanted to scream NOOOOOO THAT'S NOT HOW YOU TREAT THAT AIRPLANE! COULDN'T YOU STEAL THE %^&()&) BOMB WITHOUT DESTROYING THE AIRPLANE? I guess it's a sickness to get emotional about an airplane you've never even been aboard, but I felt the same when the last Concorde landed at Kennedy. I actually did cry then. What a waste! Is there an FSX Vulcan that duplicates that Vulcan howl sound? i7-10700K @3.8-5.1GHz, 32GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM, GTR-2060 Super 8GB, 2x SSDs

Is there an FSX Vulcan that duplicates that Vulcan howl sound? Hi Hogg thank you so much and I couldn't agree with you more!! The very first time I saw the Vulcan I remember it so well at Coningsby airshow, the sheer power overwhelms you, this thing feels alive and has brought a tear to my eye on many occasions! The one I use is the IRIS Vulcan and as far as I'm aware is the best rendition to date, it works very well in FSX and P3D, has a superb sound set, the vulcan howl is there sort of, but will never capture the real thing - ALTHOUGH, when I fly this model I really do get a sense of being there and I am reminded of all the wonderful memories of seeing this aircraft - Plus the flight modelling and start up procedures (including rapid start) are all modeled. Another great flight in another great plane! Unfortunately, it's a bit cramped jamming in behind the pilot's seat, not much rooom in thewse things. haha I have to agree for such a large aircraft the cockpit is incredibly claustrophobic! Glad you enjoyed the shots! :D Although I've never seen the Vulcan other than pictures or videos, I'm sure she will be missed from the airshow circuit! Great job displaying the old girl Steve!! :) Thanks so much Adam! Such a shame you have never seen this beast in real life though! Your eighth screenshot showing ground texture is AMAZING and best!! Also you have very rich clouds!!! I have ISIS Vulcan but am afraid to install it LOL I wish it has 2D panel! Regards, Aharon Hi Aharon I've got plenty more of the Vulcan over the VFR scenery actually, thanks very much!! I think I might post a few more of this beauty over the coming months :D She is a bit daunting to fly at first and landing the old girl can be quite a challenge, it's quite simply one of the best aircraft I've ever used.
