jandjfrench
Hi, I'm aware that it's possible to make all panels (pop up 2D windows) semi-transparent by adjusting the transparency in the Settings but can this effect be applied to a single panel? And, if so, how? Jim F.
keefpee
Never heard of this idea before, but possibly give it an alpha channel? Not sure about all the instruments though, they would all need theirs too, I think. Keith
jandjfrench
Hi Keith, It seems very likely that you're correct. And gauges will not be a problem. My question here was prompted by a request in another forum. Someone was interested in a semi-transparent checklist similar to the ATC window. I know that a new window can be created with little more than a reference to a BMP which would normally serve as a gauge background. By creating the BMP, with an alpha channel per your suggestion, from a checklist text file seems pretty much all that's required. I know that if the size entries are left out the bitmap size is used. Distortion due to monitor aspect ratios can be corrected by including size data. The window would not allow scrolling but perhaps different windows for different parts of the checklist. I haven't tried anything yet but it seems promising. Thanks for your suggestion. Jim F.
